The new Pre-School Centre at A.B Paterson College challenges our thinking of traditional learning environments for children. Conventional construction methods were used for the structure of the project with emphasis of the design and construction focusing on detailed and unique finishes and landscaping. Outdoor spaces were designed to be more than just a place to play, rather an environment for learning, reading and discovery. The use of oversized sculptures play on the sense of scale creating a novelty that is not only stimulating and fun, but also akin to our Australian heritage something deeply engrained into the history and culture of A.B Paterson College. Working within a live school environment with limited site access proved challenging, yet through vigilant planning and coordination Stokes Wheeler were yet again able to deliver a quality project.
