Client: Burleigh Heads Catholic Parish
Category: Community
The completion of this project is the culmination of many years of vision and planning by the Burleigh Heads parish. This striking building dominates the Marymount site with a structure that is both imposing and majestic.
The roof is supported by a pair of impressive concrete portals with the axis being defined by two massive roof beams forming the spine of the structure. A skylight between allows light to filter into the Nave and then through glass inserts in the floor of the nave to the columbarium in the basement below.
The incorporation of timber and stone, bold colours, locally produced stained glass and Italian designed Crucifix has all contributed to the creation of an impressive yet elegant environment.
